Who doesn’t enjoy going to the movies? Especially at a quaint theater in the heart of Doylestown, PA. Ok, now how would you like to attend a wedding in a movie theater? Awesome idea, right?! Well, that is where Colleen and Jake decided to begin their lives together as husband and wife – at the County Theater in Doylestown, PA. This theater means a lot more to them than to the average person. Not only is this their favorite date night location but this is also where Jake proposed to Colleen, during a private showing of the movie “Back to the Future”. So needless to say, I knew this wedding would be a blast even before the day began.
Colleen and Jake were clearly the superstars of the day. There were local reporters at the ceremony covering the event. And in the midst of all the wedding excitement, they were also interviewed by the paper right after the ceremony (click here if you’d like to read the article). They were on cloud 9 and you could see it in their eyes. After the ceremony we took some shots at the theater, then headed over to Star Garden right off Printers Alley. Colleen and Jake were so cute with each other the entire day. Their love is so refreshing, fun and energetic. You can tell that they are also best friends and they are going to be happy together for the rest of their lives.
The entire day was filled with personal touches put into play by both of them from Colleen’s beautifully handmade gown (made by her mom!) to the wedding programs, CD favors, name cards and guest book which Jake designed (he is a talented graphic designer – you can check out his website here).
The reception took place at the gorgeous Blue Bell Country Club. Colleen, Jake and their guests danced to beats from every end of the spectrum courtesy of Kim from No Macarena. She really got the party started – there was even a little bit of breakdancing & air guitar! The girls’ bouquets and guys’ boutonnières came from Blue Violet Flowers & Gifts. The entire day truly was picture perfect. Congratulations to Colleen & Jake and I hope you enjoy my favorite photos from the day!
